چکیده
Pooled expertise focused on the plant – this interdisciplinary approach defines the Julius BTL Bio-Test Labor GmbH Sagerheide was founded in 1993 and is located in Sagerheide (Northern Germany near Rostock). The company has set its priorities on the development of methods and execution of examinations for the registration of pesticides and transgenic plants. BTL develops suitable methods for breeding target and non-target organisms for the determination of impact of pesticides and for studies on resistance or tolerance as well as for behavioral studies. A theoretical introduction to “Combinatory SYBR®Green qPCR Screening”, a matrix-based approach for the detection of materials derived from genetically modified plants
The detection of genetically modified (GM) materials in food and feed products is a complex multi-step analytical process invoking screening, identification, and often quantification of the genetically modified organisms (GMO) present in a sample. "Combinatory qPCR SYBRGreen screening" (CoSYPS) is a matrix-based approach for determining the presence of GM plant materials in products. The CoSYPS...

Plant breeders have made and will continue to make important contributions toward meeting the need for more and better feed and food. The use of new techniques to modify the genetic makeup of plants to improve their properties has led to a new generation of crops, grains and their by-products for feed. The use of ingredients and products from genetically modified plants (GMP) in animal nutritio...
متن کاملThe relevance of gene transfer to the safety of food and feed derived from genetically modified (GM) plants.
In 2000, the thematic network ENTRANSFOOD was launched to assess four different topics that are all related to the testing or assessment of food containing or produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Each of the topics was linked to a European Commission (EC)-funded large shared cost action (see http://www.entransfood.com). Since the exchange of genetic information through horizonta...
متن کاملSafety and nutritional assessment of GM plants and derived food and feed: the role of animal feeding trials.
In this report the various elements of the safety and nutritional assessment procedure for genetically modified (GM) plant derived food and feed are discussed, in particular the potential and limitations of animal feeding trials for the safety and nutritional testing of whole GM food and feed. The general principles for the risk assessment of GM plants and derived food and feed are followed, as...
